As the New Year descends upon us, thoughts about what happened in the last 12 months wrap us around. Over the year, we experience this sensation at least twice: near our birthday and on the new year’s eve. Something inside us keeps count and evaluates where we’ve been and how far we have come. I don’t do well with new year’s resolutions, and I never write a full list, but I always set one intention for the year that is about to begin.
If you have the thought that there has got to be more to life than this, I know exactly how you feel. This thought comes from nowhere and resets everything. It’s a milestone. It stirs things up. Life can never be the same once this idea appears. You can’t ignore it because it won’t let you. It will haunt you.
